Unfazed mixed by Ripley

It’s been six years since I released my last mix, ‘Phased’. That’s a bit long really, isn’t it? Oh well, better late than never. So, I am pleased to announce the launch of the CLC podcast with my new mix ‘Unfazed’.

Musically, there’s little shared between the two mixes. Phased is a mix of House and Techno, while Unfazed is strictly disco (sort of). The titles are similar because I’m lazy. 😉

Unfazed features the best disco tracks I’ve discovered over the past few years. It was actually one of the most challenging mixes I’ve created. There is something uniquely challenging about mixing disco. The structure and sound can vary significantly between tracks while ostensibly still being ‘disco’.

Given these tumultuous times, I think the upbeat sound of disco is just what’s needed. I hope you enjoy this mix, and we’ll be back soon with the next instalment from Melbourne based Alex White.

We are live!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Cut Loose Crew website and podcast! Learn about our origin and mission below.

About us

We bring together people with a love of electronic music and its ever-evolving nature. People who appreciate the perfect balance between dancing and socialising. People with that insatiable need to simply cut loose!

The past

We’ve all been on a roller coaster for the past year or so. There have been highs, and there have been lows, but let’s face it, the highs have been too few. The challenges we’ve faced made so much harder by the blanket cancellation of the things we love – live music, arts and social events.

Some talented people went digital and streamed live to our homes. They certainly brought joy, but the spontaneity and excitement of live events can never be fully replaced. With this in mind and the entertainment industry’s creeping return, now is the time to create something new, and so Cut Loose Crew was born.

The future

It’s not yet decided what this project will evolve into, and perhaps that’s for the best. A blank canvas creates the potential for exciting and unique things.

Some things are certain. We will help you discover great electronic music that makes you feel good! There will be a podcast, some inspiring words, and dope events in Melbourne.
